“I’ve said it very clearly.”

Well, you have. But is that even the point?

I mean, even leaving aside the question whether it actually was as clear to them as it was to you, did they understand the importance? Did they see why it mattered so much to you? Was it clear that you wanted it done immediately? Was it clear that you wanted it done exactly that way and no other way?

Rule no. 1 is pretty ruthless: If they didn’t get it, they didn’t get it.

Clarity in any kind of relationship can only be achieved if it’s clear when looking from either side.
