Speaker:

When we tell our story, let's say on a website or in a podcast,

Speaker:

in a keynote, in a blog post.

Speaker:

When we tell our story, the ultimate result is when

Speaker:

people pass our message along.

But let's face it:

passing anything along is kind of a risk for your audience.

But let's face it:

Think about yourself.

But let's face it:

When, for example, you recommend something to someone, you're

But let's face it:

extending your credibility to the thing that you recommend.

But let's face it:

That's why you probably recommend only things that you

But let's face it:

feel comfortable with yourself.

But let's face it:

It doesn't stop there.

But let's face it:

You intuitively understand that ultimately, the person who asked for

But let's face it:

your opinion needs to be happy with the thing you recommended to them.

But let's face it:

And so, you put one extra layer of carefulness on top of your recommendation

But let's face it:

because what if they don't like it, right?

But let's face it:

It would be a threat to your status.

But let's face it:

On the other hand, the more someone can be sure that the thing they pass along

But let's face it:

will boost their status, the more likely they are to actually pass it along.

So a crucial question is:

will it boost your audience's status

So a crucial question is:

when they pass your message along?

So a crucial question is:

And if not, what would make it so?

So a crucial question is:

What's missing so that they will no longer see it as a risk

So a crucial question is:

but as a boost to their status.
