Welcome back after the summer break to “Irresistible Communication”,
2
:two minutes, twice a week, no nonsense
advice on leadership communication.
3
:Are you fed up with people promising
big and failing to deliver?
4
:It's so common, isn't it?
5
:And I find it super frustrating
when I see customers fall for it.
6
:If you're listening to this show,
chances are that you are different.
7
:That you're an honest marketer.
8
:Your integrity guides you to
keep the promises you make.
9
:You don't over promise.
10
:I'm on that path to.
11
:But here's a thought.
12
:Could it be that your noble
stance of under promise and
13
:over-deliver limits yourself?
14
:The reason I'm asking is that I've
met quite a number of brilliant
15
:people for whom that statement
has become a place to hide.
16
:A comfort zone, if you will.
17
:They play it a bit too safe.
18
:They fear not keeping a promise so
much that they only ever promise
19
:what they can easily deliver.
20
:But there's a middle ground they shy
away from, and that's not over-promising,
21
:but making bolder promises.
22
:I'm talking about promises
that stretch you a bit.
23
:That are outside of your comfort
zone, yet not unrealistic promises.
24
:Where you don't have all the answers
right now but you know you can find them.
25
:Promises that push you to try
harder and extend your boundaries.
26
:Over-promisers spend their energy
finding excuses when they can't deliver.
27
:But people like you, people who
care, you would spend your energy
28
:finding ways to keep that promise.
29
:And that's why you can make bold
promises and still keep them.
30
:It's a journey of daring more
while staying true to your word.
31
:That's why I dare you
to promise a bit bolder.
32
:You might discover a new level
of achievement awaiting you.
33
:Keep lighting the path!
34
:And share it with a friend!
